Weekly Reflections

FINDING GOD TOGETHER

Beyond Lent & Easter

Lent is more than a temporary “giving up” of something that we enjoy, as a sacrifice or discipline. It can be a time of “giving in” to learning and growing.  We offer Lenten Reflections in that spirit.

Each week during Lent Deacons will host a brief discussion based on the sermon from the previous Sunday. This is informal, a 45-minute Zoom. You may attend all or some of the sessions as your time permits. Below are the topic areas. If you have questions, reach out to your Deacon.

Lenten Reflections

Our mind, spirits and actions are guided by our thoughts and experiences, informed by  our senses.  Paster Lucinda will be preaching about the senses over this Lenten season and how they are reflected in Scripture.  These sermons will be the basis of our Lenten Reflections each week.

Feb 21 – “Come and See” Sight - John 11:28-37

Feb 28 – “Uncalculated” Smell - John 12:1-11

March 6 – “Tamales” Taste - John 4:1-39, selections

March 13 – “Hearing Aids,” Chris White preaching - 1 Sam 3:1-11 and Luke 5:1-11

March 20 – “God’s Touch” - John 13:1-17

March 27 – Reflections and lessons learned from this Lenten season
