Rev Stacey Midge

We are pleased to announce and welcome The Rev. Stacey Midge as our next pastor. The Pastor Nominating Committee’s recommendation to call Rev. Midge to MAPC was unanimously approved by the Congregation at a special meeting on Sunday, March 26.   And she has wholeheartedly accepted. Stacey will join us officially on May 1.  She will be living in downtown Cincinnati with her beloved dog, Laila.

Stacey comes to us from the First Reformed Church in Schenectady, NY where she has served as Associate Minister of Mission, Outreach and Youth for the past nine years.  Before that, she was a solo pastor at Glen Reformed Church in Fultonville, NY.

Rev. Midge was ordained in 2003 in the Reformed Church in America, where she holds credentials today.  She plans to transition to PCUSA within the next 18 months.

She studied for her Masters of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary from 2000-2003.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Drake University in 1999.

Rev. Midge’s theology is progressive. She brings a strong social justice orientation to her ministry, along with experience in youth programming.

In her letter to our PNC, she said: “My hope is to use my gifts and skills to lead a congregation in continual, whole-life spiritual growth - shaped in education, supported in mutual pastoral and congregational care, and centered in worship that comforts and challenges us with the intensely personal and radically universal message of the Gospel.”

Stacey is a trained singer and musician (plays guitar and has been performing in a rock band). Her appreciation for our choir was evident in her recent visit. She also met with our full staff, session and deacons.

Stacey has said: “God is calling me to a church who desires to deepen their engagement with one another, God, and the world.”

We look forward to welcoming Stacey to our faith family and sharing our spiritual journey together with grace and love.
