We invite you to take a brief virtual tour of the Mount Auburn community.  The tour begins in the back parking lot of our church.

Let's start with some background information.  Our church is actually at the edge of what is considered Mount Auburn.  Mount Auburn was one of the first suburbs developed in Cincinnati.  Cincinnati was settled along the banks and lower lying areas near the Ohio River that borders Kentucky to the south.  By the mid-19th century Cincinnati was one of the most densely populated cities in the nation.  In order to escape the over crowding of the city, residents began establishing new communities on many of the hills surrounding the city including Mount Auburn.

As we stroll outside the church parking lot and to the south we encounter McMillan Street.  Here we pass some row houses that contain apartments.   As we proceed west on McMillan we reach Auburn Avenue, the main thoroughfare in Mount Auburn.  Our tour will turn left on Auburn Avenue and go south.  Along the street you will notice the Mount Auburn banners with the inscription "Working together for a strong community."

This is Christ Hospital, 2139 Auburn Avenue, that is one of the more prominent landmarks in Mt. Auburn.  With its close proximity to other major hospitals such as University, Deaconess, and Good Samaritan, this section of Cincinnati has been popularly called "Pill Hill".   This is a close-up view of the top of Christ Hospital.  Lights shine on this at night making it visible for miles from various Cincinnati neighborhoods as well as Northern Kentucky.
