Worship Music at MAPC
OPENING HEARTS, EXPANDING SPIRITS
The MAPC Musical Approach
You can expect vibrant diversity in the MAPC music selection. You may hear choral music or featured instrumentals such as organ, piano, brass, cello, and woodwinds or handbells during worship. We invite first-rate soloists and special performers who center us as we gather together. If you feel called to share your gifts, contact Director of Music Ministry Chris Miller below.
An Assembly of Sounds
Chancel Choir
Members of the Chancel Choir speak to the fellowship and fulfillment that comes from spirited singing. We rehearse from September to June on Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the music room. If you want to join the choir, contact Director of Music Ministry Chris Miller. Enjoy these recordings from our choir’s 1998 CD entitled “Light from the Mountain: Spirituals and Inspirational Music from the Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church”.
Handbell Choir
Featuring in worship services regularly, our handbell choir plays a three-octave set of Schulmerich handbells. We rehearse from September to June on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the music room. Anyone is welcome to join, regardless of experience. Enjoy a few selections below.
October Festival Choir
Each year, the October Festival Choir performs for Cincinnati at MAPC, speaking universally through music that promotes love, acceptance, and enrichment. Check out the October Festival Choir Facebook Page to learn more or join the group! Listen to some past recordings below.
Brass Fellowship
The Brass Fellowship brings together student, amateur, and professional brass musicians to renew our spirits. Like our congregation at large, members of the brass ensemble come from all corners of Cincinnati life. Take a look at the Brass Fellowship website to learn more or join the group!
